"This was one of the medals we desperately wanted," an elated Robertson told
a news conference. "It was fantastic to have an all-English final but strange
and difficult to be playing the people we train against and share rooms with."
Robertson and Emms went into last year's world championships as the number
one ranked pair in the world but had to withdraw on the eve of the tournament
when Robertson injured his ankle in training.
Clark then played in the men's doubles final but he and partner Blair were
overwhelmed by top-ranked Chinese pair Fu and Cai.
"They are the quickest players in the world and we just couldn't get close to
them," said Blair.
