CPI up 6.5% on rising food prices(Reuters)

Food prices, which make up a third of China's consumer goods basket, rose 17.6 percent in the 12 months to October, compared with a 16.9 percent rise in the year to September, the National Bureau of Statistics said on Tuesday. Meat prices, making up about 4 percent of the CPI basket, rose 38.3 percent in October from a year earlier, the statistics office said.[Reuters] |
