An elder man is helped by his family members
from the Three Gorges area in Chongqing to board a ship which would take
them to their new homes in east China's Jiangxi Province August 16, 2004.
About 1,480 people from Fengjie County, the first group of 3,100, would be
relocated for the construction of the gorges water dam project. The rest
would set on their migration journey later this month to Fengxing and
Yifeng counties in Jiangxi. It is reported that a total of more than 1.2
million people would have to be relocated due to the construction of the
