One of the measures to create
job opportunities for migrants of Three Gorges Project is to build
labor-intensive companies with the help of companies of well-developed areas and
favorable policies.
Wanzhou District, which has 250,000 migrants, has cooperated with some large
companies, such as the Chongqing Changan Kuayue Automobiles and Shandong Ruyi
Group, in its industry zone.
Shandong Ruyi Group, a multi-proprietary Chinese-foreign joint venture
enterprise based in East China¡¯s Jinan City, is building a new mill in the Three
Gorges Technology Textile Industry Zone in Wanzhou, Southwest China's Chongqing
city. The new company can produce 500,000 compact spinning spindles -- the
largest scale and superior equipments of "compact spinning" in the world. During
its first-phase project, some 69 percent of its 2000 workers will be the
migrants in the Three Gorges Project.
