The sound of loud honking of passing cars has prompted a woman with a chicken farm in Huludao of Liaoning to build a stone wall by the side of the road to block the noise and help give her hens some peace and quiet.

"Most chickens were scared so much that they were unable to lay eggs normally," she complained. Years ago, areas surrounding her farm used to be undisturbed farmland, and home to over 10,000 chickens, 60 percent of which would lay eggs almost every day. But the new road has brought heavy traffic and the noise has apparently turned the chickens a little bit cuckoo.
