Wang Xiangjian's mynah bird is showing all the signs of a jealous wife or lover. Black Brother (Hei Ge) gets into a flap if he feels ignored.

Wang, from Zhengzhou, capital of Henan Province, bought the bird for 30 yuan ($4) at an agricultural fair and has been looking after it for a year and four months.

They get on really well, the only problem is every time 67-year-old Wang wants to read the paper or pay attention to his other pets Black Brother gets a case of the green-eyed devil. According to Wang, Black Brother will hop onto his shoulder and peck at the newspaper when he tries to read it.

Wang, who has not spent a day apart from his mynah, said it is the apple of his eye. Fortunately, his wife and kids feels the same way about the bird.
