A migrant worker has won plaudits for looking after 680 widows and orphans in the past 11 years, in Huangchuan, Henan Province.

His story was so touching it was covered by more than 50 national and local and media organizations.

Huang was said to have spent more than 1 million yuan ($129,000) over the past two decades supporting his relatives and the widows and orphans.

Huang, 45, said he would carry on supporting local families and hoped his story would help raise awareness of the plight of others.
