A Hong Kong man called police when he heard his wife on the phone threaten to throw their children out of the window.

The 36-year-old woman, surnamed Li, reportedly lost her temper because her two children were not doing their homework properly. She called her husband, surnamed Chan, and told him to return immediately or "I will throw them out of the window".

Alarmed, partly because a mentally disturbed woman had done exactly the same thing before committing suicide earlier this month, Chan called the police.

Officers rushed to Li's apartment but found she was calm and had no intention of throwing out her children. Even so, she was detained for making the threat.
