Fan Lin had completed 24 years and eight months in prison, but just 48 hours after being released he was arrested, in Huangshi, Hubei Province.

Fan admitted to several thefts and told police he wanted to go back to prison. He was originally jailed for rape.

Fan said he couldn't find any of his family members and could not adapt to life on the outside.

Fan said he did not know how to use a cell phone and was scolded by a bus driver because he wasn't aware that payment was by bus card.
