Feeding bottles are finding their way into female college students' hands in Hainan Province.

A student, surnamed Lei, from Hainan Normal University, said she has been using the teats instead of cups to drink water because it is convenient, hygienic and safe.

More than 40 percent of women on her campus are now using the bottles to do the same and the numbers are increasing.

But the practice has raised concerns among local teachers and educators, who say it is a reflection of the strong dependence young women still have on their parents and others.
