Prized mimic saved by sheer poetry(China Daily)
Updated: 2007-11-26 09:03 A hill mynah exposed its abductor by reciting poetry on Wednesday. The bird in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, had been receiving poetry lessons from its owner, surnamed Zhang. Zhang refuses to part with his pet, called A Bao, regardless of the price offered for the talented bird. A Bao was stolen on Tuesday. Zhang, while searching for the bird, later stopped a passer-by who seemed flustered. It turned out the man was the one who had stolen A Bao, hiding the bird in his clothes. The mynah started reciting poetry when it heard its master's voice and the thief was exposed. (Today Morning Post) |
