A young man in Dalian, Liaoning Province, realized the way to his girl's heart was money, so he made a bunch of "roses" from 100 yuan notes, on Sunday.

The offering worked and the couple took a walk in the park, where one passerby was so moved by the "flowers" she said she would have agreed to court the young man too.

Comments from other residents were not so favorable, however, and one person was quoted as saying that not only was the man flaunting his wealth, it was illegal for him to make roses out of legal tender.
