Guangdong Province government officials are building a database for singles and aims to put on parties and arrange tours so they can pair up.

The operation will cover 1,000 areas in 21 cities and is expected to attract up to 10 million members from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, within a year.

Guangdong has 20.64 million single young people, comprising 10.96 million men and 9.68 million women. The number is growing.
