A group of old people in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi Province, enjoy making friends and connecting with each other using the QQ chat program.

On Monday, more than 100 elderly residents of the city gathered for a Christmas party organized by their QQ group. Wang Jun, 67, whose online alias is West Wolf, said the QQ group has given him a new way to make friends and communicate with people. "And it is not just about making friends, but also letting us old dogs learn new tricks, such as typing, sending photos and using chatting software online," a user who goes by the name Forest said.
