A middle-aged kungfu master from Qingyang, Fujian Province, stunned onlookers on a street on New Year's Day with his choice of footwear - iron shoes weighing close to 163 kg.

Lai Yingying spent almost half an hour wearing his shoes and walk for about 20 m before performing a kungfu stunt.

The iron shoes were apparently not Lai's heaviest - he said he once wore a pair weighing 262kg.
