A number of students from wealthy families in Qingdao, Shandong Province, are being made to sell garbage they collect from dustbins to learn the value of money.

An educational consulting firm came up with the idea to have its students turn beggars to introduce them to life's hardships and have them appreciate the good life they lead.

More than 10 children have been registered for the activity, which will take place on January 26.
