A turtle fossil was recently discovered in the city of Pingdingshan, Henan Province.

Experts believe the fossil, which is about the size of an adult palm and weighs about a kilogram, dates back more than 100 million years.

Resident Xue Quanxi said he found the piece in the city's Xiaxian county - but broke the turtle's head by accident.
