A dog surprised its owner, a locksmith and a group of firefighters over the weekend when it opened a locked door from inside the house in Hankou, Hubei Province.

The dog's owner, surnamed Pan, had sought a locksmith's help when he found his home in the city's Jinghan Dadao was locked from the inside as he got back at about 5 pm.

Pan called the fire department for help when the locksmith failed to open the door.

Firefighters arrived and were set to break the door, when it suddenly opened.

Out came Pan's dog, Chou Chou.
