Ma Jizhe, 73, was obsessed with playing on the computer even though he was going blind.

Ma's vision used to be fine but it has deteriorated in the past eight years, a doctor said, because he was on the computer more than 10 hours a day surfing, doing graphic design, video editing and assembling hardware.

Doctor Chen Yuchuan said old people in particular should not stare at a computer screen for long periods every day.
