YICHANG -- Four bodies were pulled out of a river in the central Hubei Province, bringing the death toll in a tour bus accident on Saturday to five.
The bus, registered as D13806, with 20 on board was headed for the city seat of Yichang when it struck a railing of a bridge over the Huangbo River, a tributary of the Yangtze River, at about 1:40p.m. and plunged into the water.
The driver was among the fatalities.
Twelve people, including eight who were hurled out of the bus, were rescued and hospitalized. Rescuers are still seeking four missing riders.
The identities of the passengers and the cause of the accident are under investigation.
