Italian cuisine penetrates

Capone's has it right; the swinging London decor, extensive wine list, attentive service, and the quality of the food-all of it is just right. Oh and another thing-it's not one of those "presentation" restaurants with stingy portions.

The caprese salad (RMB 89) was more than generous with the mozzarella (imported from Europe) and thrillingly sweet yellow tomatoes. As for entrees, there's a good range of pastas, as well as a robust selection of seafood and red meats. The baked sea bass (RMB 135) was flawless, and while the ink-filled ravioli with crabmeat (RMB 99) was less flavorful than one would like, the tomato thyme sauce that it came with was plate-licking savory. Yes, Capone's has gotten it right, and as you've likely noticed, their prices suggest they're well aware of this.

But then, this wo't put off anyone whose idea of Italian cuisine extends beyond the Annie's flying angel logo.
