War criminals

Comment on "Japan 'must respect' neighbors' sentiments" (China Daily, May 9)

Sentiments to face:

1. If it is about Japanese politics, the Chinese in this world are out of it for sure.

2. If it is about local Japanese crimes, the Chinese in this world can only sigh with disbelief.

3. When any topic touches on Japanese culture and religion, Shintoism or the like in Japan, the Chinese in this world can only respect it. The Japanese can certainly pray for peace and respect of their late elders, but they have to understand the differences between honorable and dishonorable fallen cadres, brethrens and relatives.

By the same token, do the Europeans enshrine and pray respectfully to the late Nazi ruler Hitler every year during their World War II commemoration days?

4. But, when it comes to the gross humiliation of Chinese in this world, these Chinese are awakened from nightmarish reminders of the cruellest and the most unjustified sufferings that Chinese had to endure.

These were so unbearable by any account and were the ugliest and darkest war crimes committed in the Asian region.

'Comfort women'

Comment on "Former sex slave breaks silence" (China Daily, May 9)

We must believe there are more living victims like her around. The most important thing is to help these women to reveal their pasts and make them understood by everyone.

Excuse for power

Comment on "US religious body report criticized" (China Daily, May 9)

Many Westerners are always trying to force everyone, including China, to follow their rules and commands. If a nation refuses, they are branded as evil, violating human rights, corrupt, oppressive, etc.

These Westerners are just power hungry, but use morality and righteousness to hide their lust for power and justify attacking other nations.

Stock bubble grows

Comment on "China stocks surge past 4,000 briefly" (China Daily website, May 9)

The stock bubble is growing larger and larger. People in China are crazy about making a big fortune during this round of the economic boom.
