Aging China
Comment on "Most only-child couples want one child" (China Daily, November 6)
Chinese have completely changed their attitudes toward raising children. Most of them are willing to have no more than one child.
The reason is that raising a child is too expensive to afford in the current circumstances. However, China is becoming an aging society, and the government should work out effective ways to solve the problem.

Action speaks louder
Comment on "Gates says US adheres to One-China Policy" (China Daily website, November 5)
Action is more important than words. Gates says the US adheres to the One-China Policy, but the question is why the US is always selling arms to Taiwan.
Another question is why the US set up several military bases in Asia, such as Japan, South Korea and so on. The purpose is obvious.
Third, the US likes to criticize China, for example on human rights.
You should know that no country is perfect, and all we need to do is try our best to make China a well-off country.

Education important
Comment on "3,000 people contract HIV every month" (China Daily, November 6)
What do you expect in a society that teaches children little about sex? Education is the only way to prevent the disease. It also doesn't help when some Chinese have sex outside their marriages.

Stop discrimination
Comment on "A day for migrants" (China Daily, November 5)
What benefit is there in declaring a nongmingong (farmers-turned-workers) day?
If people really care about migrant workers then they should stop treating them as second-class citizens.
Much of the prosperity enjoyed by urbanites is the result of migrant workers' hard work. They deserve equal status.

Fair or not
Comment on "Games tickets to be sold by lottery" (China Daily, November 6)
It is a good idea to switch back to a lottery. However, I don't see why it should be fair to give those who were lucky enough to register before the system crashed a priority now?
How about the millions of other people who spent even more time, but were unable to get connected via Internet or telephone?
