Space breakthrough
Comment on "Launch of space station set for 2020" (China Daily, November 7)
Great news for 1.3 billion Chinese and a technological breakthrough for all developing nations.
Since China's application to join the International Space Station has been neglected, the only way for China's space scientists is to develop their own.

Bubbles and inflation
Comment on "Yellow light warning for Chinese economy" (China Daily website, November 7)
The CPI will rise because the economy is growing too quickly. Anyway, it is just an index. We have reasons to trust that our government will manipulate macroeconomic policies to keep prices in check.

I don't understand economics, but I do believe that excessively fast growth will create economic bubbles. For example, real estate and stock markets are showing signs of abnormal performance. This is not a well-balanced phenomenon for china.

Upgrade industry
Comment on "World 'still trusts' Chinese products" (China Daily, November 7)
China should switch from making goods such as toys and food to more sophisticated products such as satellites and cars.
We can't develop relying on labor-intensive industries.

Help for free
Comment on Liu Shinan's column "A lack of education breeds apathy" (China Daily, November 7)
I noticed this apathy in China in the first week of my visit there... and I have asked my Chinese friends many times about it. I attribute it to fear, mistrust and a lack of confidence.
Another thing: Many Chinese people rarely do things for free or help others for free. They always do things if they can benefit from it. They help friends - but expect from friends the same.
