Wise move
Comment on "Excess liquidity surpasses central bank's expectations" (China Daily website, November 12)
Zhou Xiaochuan is a very clever, intelligent and experienced banker. It is wise to raise the reserve ratio and the interest rate again in China.
Obviously China cannot bear asset bubbles especially in the stock and property markets, especially when many ordinary folk are spending their time on speculation.
It is rather dangerous for an economy when people indulge in excessive speculation, and become greedy.

Education important
Comment on "Expert warns of worsening AIDS infection in China" (China Daily website, November 12)
AIDS is a terrible virus. The most important step is to educate students and teenagers.
We should try to keep the rate of infected teenagers at the lowest level. It would be horrible if many teenagers are infected with AIDS.

Bad for health
Comment on Wang Hao's column "Let us not ignore kids' pressures" (China Daily, November 9)
If children have a gift for playing some kind of musical instrument, I do not oppose they receive extra tutoring. But the fact is they spend most of their spare time learning subjects that should be taught in school.
What is more, at some top schools, poor kids are not even allowed to listen to music, let alone indulge in other forms of entertainment.
I feel very worried about the health and future of Chinese students.

I read your article in China Daily, which I think is great.
I do not think kids in other countries have to go to top schools and universities. They can learn practical skills even if they do not attend institutions of higher learning. So I do believe we should change our educational system.
For migrant children, I feel so sad. The country cannot be like it is if we did not have migrant workers. But, sadly, they are often despised by city dwellers. I do have love and respect for needy families and their kids, and hope the problem will be gradually solved in future.

Workers' unions
Comment on Liu Shinan's column "Messages of hope for working class" (China Daily, October 24)
I just read your excellent and timely column regarding workers' wages and better distribution of the wealth.
Could not workers' unions help? Or is there another way, workers committees - something union-like, but not radical?
