Improve life quality

Comment on "Premier: Economy to grow by 11.5 percent" (China Daily, November 21)

It is good news that China is maintaining a fast economic growth rate.

However, the living standards of the people do not seem to have kept pace with the growth rate.

In my opinion, the government should pay more attention to dealing with the problems of corruption and housing, and take more measures to control the CPI's growth that affects the life of poor people.

Climate change

Comment on You Nuo's column "Time to act on climate change" (China Daily, November 19)

I cannot agree more on the need for action. I am sure that the creation, manufacturing and distribution of new technologies that reduce gas emissions will improve the environment.

Clone technology

Comment on "Stem cell breakthrough uses no embryos" (China Daily website, November 21)

Clone technology faces many ethical and political problems, so it is difficult for many people to accept the technology.

Since scientists successfully cloned a sheep named Dolly years ago, the technology has made little progress.

I think the new measures mentioned in the article are very promising, as they will be accepted more easily.

Saving the tiger

Comment on "Siberian tiger killed by fellow beasts" (China Daily website, November 21)

Maybe the wildlife park can only support few big cats. One alternative is to introduce more small animals like rabbits and mountain goats. Nature can be very cruel to animals.
