An open country
Comment on "More media services promised" (China Daily, December 19)
It is good for China that it will open itself more to journalists because this is a simple way to burnish the country's image. It seems to me that with the development of the Chinese economy, the government is getting more and more open to the world and also more and more strong to meet the challenges from other countries.

Caring for migrants
Comment on "Migrant workers keen on a richer life" (China Daily, December 18)
My uncle, my father and many other relatives are all migrant workers. I not only understand their living conditions, but also what they really want.
What I want to do is give my best wishes to these workers. As they face the severe winter weather, I hope every one of them will be able to enjoy warmth from society and a happy new year!

Fighting graft
Comment on "Anti-corruption fight 'more prominent' on Party agenda" (China Daily, December 19)
I have seen how corruption hampers development. The Chinese government is doing a great job.
I also suggest building a reporting channel through which ordinary citizens can report incidents. This would help ensure that corruption is not so rampant.

Haibao welcome
Comment on "Hi, I'm Haibao of Expo" (China Daily, December 19)
I think Haibao is good, sunny and cute. The idea and the design impress me.
More important, the character reflects the theme of the expo.

Warming ties
Comment on "China, Japan in talks over Fukuda's visit" (China Daily, December 19)
The focus of efforts to develop China-Japan ties should be on cultural exchanges between the two countries.
Cultural exchanges can effectively ease the mutual suspicion between the two people.
If Japanese people can understand China's peaceful culture and traditional philosophy, then it will be easy to see why China's rise is peaceful and should be welcomed!
High-level visits are necessary, but it would be better if the two governments could open more channels for cultural exchanges between the two great Asian nations.
