Jilin provincial investment promotion initiatives will mainly focus on Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong special administrative region and Taiwan province. It will also target the United States and European countries as well as emerging economies.

To attract internal investment, Jilin will mainly send teams to Guangdong province and Shanghai as well as Suzhou, Ningbo, Wenzhou and Dalian.

The province is also planning to invite foreign business chambers, investment promotion agencies and business chambers in developed regions in the country to make field trips to Jilin to seek investment opportunities.

In the future, Jilin authorities will invite more investors to inspect the business environment in the province.

The investment promotion work will become more specific in the future, with tailor-made projects introduced to target investment source countries.

The province has designated the following sectors as the chief industries for its investment campaign: automobiles, petrochemicals, agricultural products, medicine, energy, new construction materials, tourism, and electronics.

Projects that are to be showcased in investment promotion fairs will target industrial giants in Japan and small and medium-sized auto or environment firms in South Korea.

At the same time, investment and trade fairs that are in Singapore and Hong Kong should mainly showcase the agriculture processing industry, hi-tech, tourism or traditional Chinese medicine, while in Taiwan, Jilin will seek investment opportunities in Ginseng production and agriculture cooperation.

The province can seek potential investors in auto parts, machinery, dairy and leather production in the US, Germany, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

In emerging countries in South America and East Europe, Jilin will mainly seek cooperation in resources and medicine.

To attract domestic investment, Jilin will strive to court funding from the south of the country.

The province is planning to establish a host of international industrial cooperation parks and provincial industrial zones to facilitate the investment inflow.

Jilin will also promote its investment environment and opportunities by participating trade fairs both at home and abroad.

The province will encourage the cooperation between its exhibition industry and counterparts from around the world to promote Jilin.

Jilin will make the 4th Northeast Asia Investment and Trade Expo, an annual investment promotion fair held in the provincial capital city of Changchun, its top priority in seeking investment.

The annual trade fair is an important platform where potential investors can find their projects in Jilin or in the northeast area.
