1. call in sick
这个片语的意思就是“打电话请病假”——貌似病假通常都是打电话请的啊，当然这里面肯定也有偷懒的成分了。我们来看个例子：Ben called in sick and told his boss he would miss the meeting. 本打电话请了病假，告诉他的老板他不能去开会了。
比较正式的请病假的用法应该是sick leave / medical leave，比如：I need a sick leave for two days. 我需要请两天病假。事假是personal leave。
2. drag one's ass
这个片语也写作drag ass / drag it / drag tail，意思是“leave, depart 离开”，比如：I'm dragging my ass out of this place. 我正要离开这儿。我们以前曾经讲过，通常要别人挪动一下，比较口语、俚语的说法常常都带个ass，butt之类的，比如 move your butt (别挡路)，get your ass up (站起来)。
3. hit
这里的hit 用作动词，是“袭击”的意思，例如：The raiders hit at dawn. 突袭队员在拂晓时分发动袭击。
