Haven't got your Olympics tickets yet? Don't worry, there will be another chance.
Round two of ticket sales on the Chinese mainland for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will open tomorrow at 9 pm, organizers said.
Rong Jun is director of Olympic Ticketing Center of the Beijing Olympic organizing committee (BOCOG). He said, "Roughly 1.85 million tickets for all the Olympic sports competitions will be on sale in this phase, which will end in late-January 2008."
"During the phase one sales period from April 15 to June 30, all tickets for the Olympic opening and closing ceremonies and 1.59 million tickets for the Olympic sports competitions were sold."
In contrast with the first stage lottery draw sales system, tickets in the second stage will be sold on a "first come, first served" policy.
"Any person who has an address on the Chinese mainland and meets the ID requirements is eligible to request Olympic tickets through the designated channels," Rong said.
He continued: "Applicants can choose to reserve the tickets through any of the three channels, as all three channels will be connected to the same database. Paper application forms will not be valid for this phase."
Rong said ticket reservations would be held for two days in which payment must be made, either by Visa card online or in person at a Bank Of China outlet.
Failure to pay for reserved tickets will lead to their cancellation and the seats will again become available in the ticket pool.
To keep the system fair, each person is allowed to buy a maximum of 50 tickets, and a limit of two tickets for high-demand events.
