"I know every one has the right to love and be loved, but your love has destroyed the peace, tranquility and happiness of my family. Do you think you would be pleased?"
These were words from a letter written by a second-grade middle school student in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong Province, to a woman in Beijing.
Xiao Hua (not his real name) wrote the letter because his father had an affair with the woman one year ago during a business trip to Beijing.
The father opted to stay in Beijing and file for divorce. His decision was opposed by all family members and relatives, as well as his friends.
But the man went ahead and brought the suit to court after his wife refused the divorce.
In April, the court decreed that the divorce request was unreasonable because it was caused by extra-marital relationship instead of incompatibility.
Despite the court's decision, Xiao Hua's father refused to go back to Shenzhen, and Xiao Hua's mother had to hire a private detective to find information about the third party.
After the investigation, the detective told the family that the women living with Xiao Hua's father was surnamed Wang, in her early 30s, well-educated with a master degree and employed by a well-known Beijing company.
"I thought I should do something to save my broken family when I learned the woman's information. I decided to write a letter to her to see if I could convince her, since she is a well-educated person," the boy said.
During his parents' divorce battle, Xiao Hua felt unhappy and suffered from a rapid decline in school. His lively personality changed to depression.
"In my imagination, love should be sweet and blessed by family members, relatives and friends, but your love with my father caused deep harm and hatred," Xiao Hua wrote in the letter to the woman.
In the letter, Xiao Hua also described the harm brought by the divorce to everyone in his family, especially to him, a teenage boy who had the seeds of revenge sown in his heart.
"I even dreamed that you and my father killed my mother and later I killed you two to avenge my mother," Xiao Hua said in the letter.
Xiao Hua also wrote a letter to the woman's father when he learned that he was a reputable scholar in Beijing.
The two letters finally saved the broken family.
According to the detective, Ms Wang decided to cut off the relationship with Xiao Hua's father after she read the boy's letter. "I do not want to hurt an innocent child," the woman said.
Xiao Hua's father was also deeply affected by his son's letter. He did not want to destroy his son and decided to go back to Shenzhen a month after reading the letter.
