Cash porker becomes pet corn-guzzling liability

The 500-kg pig that Zhu Fengxia, an 80-year-old woman from Qinglong, a Manchu autonomous county of Hebei province, bought 15 years ago as an investment is now eating her household out of corn.

Zhu originally intended to sell the beast when it hit 100 kg in weight, but grew fond of it and started to treat it like a pet, her daughter surnamed Huang said.

"She treats it as a family member, and would do anything for it even though it eats almost all her annual corn crop," Zhu's neighbors said on Thursday.
