Unsuspecting mugger calls police on stolen cell phone

Quick thinking by a woman surnamed Wang of Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, saved her from robbery and brought about the arrest of her assailant.

A man attempted to mug Wang at midnight as she was on her way home a few days ago.

After forcing her to walk to a hillside he demanded she give him PIN codes for three of her bankcards. Wang, suspecting the mugger might be illiterate, suggested he key the codes into her mobile, but the number she gave him was actually that of a police officer friend of hers.

When the call was answered Wang screamed for mercy thus apprising her police officer friend of the situation. The robber was apprehended two hours later on his way to an ATM.
