The most special things in Nakchu are the various precious
Chinese medicines like Snow Lotus Flower and Aweto. A rare herb, Snow Lotus
Flower can eliminate colds, fortify yang, and warm the womb. Aweto is one of the
three top tonics (the other two are panax and pilose antler of a young stag) in
ancient China. As the name suggests, aweto is like a worm in winter, while in
summer, it turns into grass. Aweto is usually braised with chicken or duck as
well as dunked in wine.

tea, Giant Panda woolen blankets and Qizheng pain killer bandages.
To go shopping in Nyingchi tourists can go to Bayi, an important logistics
center in southeast Tibet. Influenced by Guangdong, a southern coastal province
of China, Bayi looks more like a Cantonese town than a Tibetan one. A trade fair
is held in Nyingchi during the Liangbusula Festival falling on August 10 of the
Horse Year on the Tibetan calendar. Apart from downtown Hongji Market selling
various products from all over China, downtown Nyingchi also has many teahouses,
bars, hotels, Internet cafes and supermarkets.
Chamdo is a comparatively prosperous region in Tibet and
