What to expect:

This is an ideal package for those who want to enjoy the essence of Tibet in a very limited time. The newly built Qinghai-Tibet railway provides visitors with a picturesque view. This route also guides you to the most important sites in Lhasa (the heart and soul of Tibet, the centuries-long abode of the Dalai Lamas and the place of devout pilgrimage), and leaves you some free time to explore the city as well.

Itinerary:

Beijing-->Lhasa (Distance: 4,064km)

Scenic spots on the way:

Potala Palace (a Lhasa landmark)-->Jokhang Temple (the spiritual center of Tibet)-->Barkhor Street (a shopping area full of fun and surprise)-->Sera and Trupeng (two of the six main Gelupa monasteries)-->Norbu Lingka (the Summer Palace of the Dailai Lama).

Day-by-day Itinerary:

D1: Beijing West Railway Station, train (T22) departs at 21:30.

D2: On the train, enjoy the scenery of the Sichuan Basin and the Yellow Earth Plateau.

D3: Enjoy some rare species of plants and animals as the train approaches Lhasa. Arrive at Lhasa in the evening and check in at a hotel.

D4: Drive to the world-famous Potala Palace and then move to the nearby Jokhang Temple to visit the most famous and oldest building in Lhasa. After that, try Barkhor Street, the business center of Lhasa.
