D4: Sightseeing in Tsedang

D5: Tsedang-->Lhasa (Distance: 400km)
Drive to Lhasa, en route visit Tibet's first monastery, - the Samye monastery, which was built in the 8th century and is located beside the braided channels of Yarlung Tsampo. Arrive at Lhasa and stay here overnight.

D6: Sightseeing in Lhasa
Explore the beauty and mystery in Lhasa. Enjoy driving on the narrow winding streets in the old city. The highlights en route include the religious sanctuaries of Sera, Drepung and Jokhang and the ancient markets of Barkhor Bazaar. Walk to the nearby Norbulinka, enjoy the holiness of the former summer palace for the Dalai Lama. Stay overnight in Lhasa.

D7: Sightseeing in Lhasa for further acclimation
Visit the magnificent Potala Palace. After taking a tour, drive to the nearby Chagpori Hill and view the panorama of the Potala complex here. Stay overnight in Lhasa.

D8: Lhasa-->Gyantse(Distance: 250km)
Drive to Gyantse via Karo La (5010 above sea level) and Kamp-La (4794m above sea level)passes. Then descend to the sacred Lake Yamdrok for a good rest. Reach the old town of Gyantse and visit the impressive Palcho monastery, which consists of 16 monasteries of different schools of Buddhism in Tibet. Then go to Dzong Fort, which was recommended by the British General Younghusband in 1904. Stay overnight in Gyantse.

D9: Gyantse-->Shigatse (Distance: 90km)
Depart from Gyantse for Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet. Upon arrival, explore the fantastic Tashilhunpo monastery and view the beautiful paintings and funeral pagodas here. Stay overnight in Shigatse.
