From Katmandu to Tibet for the over-50 tourist

D 10: Shigatse-->Xegar(Distance: 244km)
Driving across the Nyalamu pass (3,800m above sea level)and the Lalungla pass (5,050m above sea level), then descend to Xegar (4350m above sea level) via the wondrous Tibetan plateau. Stay overnight in Xegar.

D11: Xegar-->Zhangmu( Distance: 257km)
Depart form Xegar across Karo La pass (5010 above sea level). Enjoy the grandiose views on the way then descend to Zhangmu, which is the border town between Nepal and China. Take a rest and stay overnight here.

D12: Zhangmu-->Dulikhel(Distance: 30km)
Continue the descending trip along the Himalayas and drive across the border into the Kingdom of Nepal. Feel the peaceful atmosphere of the beautiful countryside en route. After getting to the Hill-station of Dulikhel, enjoy the grand Himalayan panorama. Stay overnight in Dulikhel.

D13: Bhaktapur - King's Palace, Kathmandu
Drive to Bhaktapur, visit the former King's Palace temples, then head to Kathmandu and the rest of the day is free for further exploration. Stay overnight in Kathmandu.

D14: Depart from Kathmandu
Leave Kathmandu for the international airport.

Tips:

1) Because Tibet's sunlight is extremely intense and temperatures can vary greatly within a day, sunglasses and layers of clothing are especially important for the elderly. . A warm windbreaker and comfortable shoes are especially recommended.
2) Though this trip is specially designed for those over 50, some unexpected situations such as mild headache, fever and loss of appetite may be unavoidable. So prepare well before taking this route.
3) Those with heart, lung or blood diseases may not take this tour.
