Tuvaluan athletes to compete in first Olympics

WELLINGTON -- Tuvalu will be represented for the first time at the Olympics as they will send two athletes to the Beijing Games next month in China, the Suva-based Pacnews regional news agency reported on Tuesday.

Oceania National Olympic Committee secretary general Robin Mitchell confirmed that Tuvalu would be send a male and female athlete to compete in the track and field events.

Mitchell said both athletes, Okilani Tililau and Asenate Manoa are training in Suva.
