I like the article of "Tasty Beijing snacks lack broad appeal," March 28.

As a foreigner here who has recently moved to Beijing, I would welcome finding more local food on the street. I don't enjoy and try not to eat some Western fast food. They are bad for your health and expensive. And more importantly, not as tasty as local food.

Unfortunately, probably due to soaring rent rates, the small local businesses are being pushed further and further away from the main roads, so it is becoming increasingly hard to find. I would love to try more local food (I think Dou Zhi is very palatable, on par with a good old Blue Cheese) I just don't know where to go to find them.
