I am very worried by the worsening of marine pollution in China as reported by China Daily on January 13.

According to the latest news, the coastal marine ecosystem is deteriorating, and the quality of offshore ocean water has not improved. Large amounts of pollutants are filtering from the land into the sea.

China is now developing very rapidly. But development should never be achieved at the cost of the environment where we live and which we depend on. Otherwise, it would be like committing suicide.

It is urgent for the Chinese government to stipulate harsher regulations on punishing those who seriously pollute the environment by releasing waste.
