Comments on Raymond Zhou's column "Netizens distracted by 'small evil'" (China Daily, January 20, 2007)

I am a Chinese working in a foreign company.

I think the debate on Starbucks is a question of how we view the relationship between foreign and Chinese traditional culture. As a Chinese I love traditional Chinese culture and also underline the importance of maintaining the integrity of Chinese architecture.

But for the Starbucks in the Forbidden City, I just regard it as a way of entertainment for the visitors, because they can have a good place to rest, drink coffee, and breathe a little bit when they are tired. So I think there is no need to make a fuss over the trifling thing.
